Breathing retreat at World Fellowship Center, Conway, NH
If you’ve ever been to a Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement class, you’ve probably experienced the wonderful, and at times profound, changes that can take place through this method in your body and in your sense of self.
Now imagine what could happen over the course of four whole days, as you go deeper and deeper into your senses, and flesh out the map of your self-image.
And now imagine that you are spending those four days in a beautiful location, exploring and improving your breath!
This year’s theme: The Power of Breath
There is nothing more fundamental to life than the simple action of breathing.
Some improvements you are likely to discover:
- Reduce stress
- Become more calm and centered
- Sleep better
- Feel aches and pains melt away
- Make peace with your belly
- Balance your pelvic floor
- Find ease in your chest and shoulders
- Feel supported by your back
- … and much more!
(I can tell you from personal experience that these breath lessons can even help improve your hands!)
Musicians (singers and wind players in particular, of course) can expect to…
- Increase breath capacity and improve ‘support’
- Learn to deeply relax your neck, throat and tongue
- Improve expression, phrasing, and your sense of rhythm (really!)
- … and much more!

About the retreat
This retreat is modeled on the process used in professional Feldenkrais Practitioner training. We will do at least three Awareness Through Movement lessons each day, allowing time for both rest and discussion between lessons to help you integrate what you have experienced. The program will take place in the morning and early afternoon, leaving you free to enjoy everything else that World Fellowship has to offer for the rest of the day.
